Mrs. Anna Catherine Staley, 87, formerly of Woodsboro, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her daughter's home following a brief illness. Born November 22, 1926 in Woodsboro, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Etta Mae Fogle Kline. She was the wife of Nevin W. Staley who died in 1975. Mrs. Staley was a graduate of Walkersville High School and was a member of the Graceham Moravian Church. She was formerly employed with BioWhittaker, Inc. of Walkersville prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. Surviving are four children, Ronald L. Staley and wife Nina of Walpole, MA; Jill A. Raber and husband Joe of East Berlin, PA; Michael E. Staley of Hagerstown and David W. Staley and companion Martha of Salisbury; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a brother, William Kline and wife Shirley of McSherrystown, PA and a sister, Ruth Kline Baker of Walkersville. She was predeceased by brothers, Ray, Silas, Richard and Ira Kline and sisters, Dorothy Biddinger and Zelma Caples. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with Pastor Sue Koenig, officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery, near Woodsboro. Pallbearers will be Tony, John, Jimmy, Chris, Jane and Jason Staley, Jon Raber and Josh Ditsky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday, August 22 and from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Graceham Moravian Church, 8231 Rocky Ridge Rd., Thurmont, MD 21788 or to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 1651-A Mt. Zion Rd., York, PA 17406.
