"Charlotte Gardner, age 73, of Coleman, died Monday, August 18, 2014, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

"She was born Charlotte Anne Wagnon on July 25, 1941, in May, Texas, a daughter of Dois L. Wagnon and Fawn Kirksey Wagnon. She grew up in May and attended school there and later graduated from Draughn’s Business College in Abilene. On August 6, 1983, she married Glen Gardner in Kerrville. Charlotte was the director of the MHMR Sheltered Workshop in Coleman for many years. She later worked for Dr. Oral. She was a Lutheran and a member of the Coleman Art League.

"Survivors include her husband, Glen Gardner of Coleman; two daughters, Kaci Thorne and husband, Ronnie, of Encino, Texas, and Angi Willett and husband, David, of Rising Star; one sister, Donna Brown and husband, Fred, of Eastland; five grandchildren: Logan Bell and wife, Angela, of San Angelo, Cicili Miller of Coleman, Alexandra Carnes of San Angelo, Hayley Willett and Hannah Willett both of Rising Star; two great-grandchildren, Jaegan Miller and Rowdy Miller; brother-in-law, Quinton Daniels of Santa Anna, sister-in-law, Beth Sparkman of New Braunfels, brother-in-law, John and wife Lynda Gardner of Oracle, Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great-nephews.

"Memorials may be made to Kinder Hearts Hospice, 842 N. Mockingbird, Abilene, Texas 79603.

"Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas 76834."
