Obituary from the Watertown Daily Times: Miss Lola H. Greene, 72, retired secretary-treasurer of the Northern New York Service Stations, Inc, Carthage, died at 10:30 pm on Saturday in Mercy Hospital, where she was transferred from the Madonna Home on September 27.
In poor health for three years, Miss Greene lived at the Academy Street Proprietary home, 1023 Academy Street from February, 1962, until July, 1963, when she entered the Madonna Home.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 pm at the Wilcox and McCallen Funeral Home, with the Reverend Thomas J. Carlisle, pastor of Stone Street Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Adams Center. Friend mauy call at the funeral home from 2 pm to 5 pm and 7pm to 9 pm today.
Surviving are a brother, Edward T. Greene, 1988 State Street; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Alice) Hayes, 417 Holcomb Street; and nieces and nephews.
Miss Greene was born in Honeyville on November 14, 1892, a daughter of Thomas E. and Alice (Bunce) Greene. She was graduated from Watertown High School. In 1920, she went to Carthage to work. When she retired, about 1950, she was secretary-treasurer of the Northern New York Service Stations, Inc., an associate of Empire Petroleum Products. While in Carthage, Miss Greene was a member of the Outlook and the Argonaut clubs. She was a member of Stone Street Presbyterian Church. After her retirement, Miss Green lived in St. Petersburg, Florida for about ten years, before she returned to Watertown because of failing health.
