Danny Marshall Holmes, 58 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana passed away on August 15, 2014 at his daughter and son-in-law's home in Springfield, Louisiana after a short illness.
Danny was born on September 18, 1955 in Hinds County, Mississippi to Billy Marshall and Mary Ann Holmes.
Danny enjoyed life and loved hunting, fishing, dancing, boating, landscaping and going to the movies but especially love spending time with his family. Danny worked for many years as a safety manager and medic in various plants. He also owned his own business doing landscaping and contracting work called Holmes Landscaping and Gutters. Danny was a very loving and giving Dad, Paw Paw and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Dana Marie Holmes Threeton and her husband, Terry Threeton, Jr.; his grandchildren, Zachary Trey Housley and his fiancée, Brooklynn James, Kaylie and Jacob Thibodeaux; his step-grandchildren, Taylor Threeton, Savanna Threeton, Zachary Threeton and Danica Threeton; his great-grandchild, Lennon Housley; and his sister, Katy Holmes Lea; also many aunts, nephews, cousins, close friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Marshall and Mary Ann Holmes; and his son, Danny Marshall Holmes, Jr.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30,. 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
A funeral service celebrating Danny's life will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
