Mary Ann Davis Mar. 3, 1944 - Aug. 16, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Mary Ann Elizabeth Cook Davis of Muncie, IN, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN on Saturday, August 16. Mary Ann was born on March 3, 1944 to Edward and Ruth Cook in Muncie, IN. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1962. There she participated in Pep Squad and had many good friends. She attended St. Lawrence Catholic School in her earlier years, and her strong belief in God was formulated there. In her adult life she was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Church in South Bend, IN. She is survived by two children, Salem Davis (Lisa) and Denise Davis Hoffman (Tim), three grandchildren, Brittany Davis and Hailey and Preston Hoffman, and one brother, Tim Cook of Mishawaka. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids and spoiled them as much as she could. Mary Ann worked over 25 years at the Social Security office in South Bend. She had many good friends through her work and helped numerous disadvantaged families get the benefits they needed through her time there. She enjoyed many trips to California and Las Vegas where she spent time with family and had fun gambling. Mary Ann was a smart, strong, and funny person who enjoyed making people laugh. She could walk up to a stranger, and within minutes have them laughing and talking like they had been friends for years. She had a laugh that was contagious, and a love for her family and friends that was everlasting. Visitation will be at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St.,Mishawaka on Tuesday, August 19 from 4 8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 20 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church at 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd. at 10am. Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Donations can be made in memory of Mary Ann Davis to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association of your choice.
