Charles Wayne Parker 1916 ~ 2006 Charles Wayne Parker died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 in West Haven, Utah. He was born on January 9, 1916 in Highland, Utah, Utah County to Charles Alexander Parker and Mary Luetta Miller. His father died when he was two years old. He was a good student in the Alpine and Highland Schools. He worked for his uncles at an early age taking care of sheep in the high reaches of American Fork and Provo Canyons, where he came to love the outdoors. He married his sweetheart, June Eva James on November 3, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple. From this union were born two children, Bonnie June and Sterling Wayne Parker. He was employed in the Jordan School District for 25 years and also raised mink as a side line job. He was very busy raising his family. He loved to go on car rides and vacations with his wife and children. He was valiant in serving as a ward clerk for 26 years for eight different bishops and six wards. He worked 13 years as an officiator in the Salt Lake Temple. June and Wayne Parker were privileged to go on a temple mission to the Oakland Temple where they served 18 months. He served in various priesthood presidencies and Sunday school presidencies.

Wayne is survived by his wife, and children. He has 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, John Thomas Gordon, sister, Katie Olsen and half sister, Nan Gordon.

Funeral services will be held Sat. December 30, 2006, 12 noon, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. The family will receive family and friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2006, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10:30 a.m. the day of the service. Interment, American Fork Cemetery. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff and administrators at Peach Tree Assisted Living, West Haven, Utah, and Lifepath Hospice, Riverdale, Utah, for their kindness and care in Wayne's last year.
