ERNEST JOHN PANZRAM, JR., September 27, 1914 - April 26, 2010

Family was the center of E.J. Panzram's life. A devoted son, brother, loving and committed husband, beloved father, and cherished grandfather, Mr. Panzram leaves our world having modeled a life of virtue, integrity, and Christian belief. A native Houstonian born in the Heights, he was laid to rest beside his wife of sixty years on April 28th, 2010, at 11:30AM. True to his humble nature, his was a family graveside service conducted by Reverend Chris Nagel.

His survivors are daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Annelle) Guidry, Ms. Marilou Bonner, Mrs. Cindy Powell, and son-in-law, Russell Kelly Powell. His legacy includes eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Panzram graduated from Sam Houston High School after which he attended the University of Texas having majored in mechanical engineering. He devoted his professional life to innovation, expansion, and development of the Houston area, while also facilitating the oil industry. Throughout most of his career he was President and Chairman of the Board for the Houston based company, Berger Iron Works, Inc. Before permanent retirement from Berger's, the company having accomplished many national and military assignments, one of the projects of which he and his colleagues were so proud was their involvement in the renovation of the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas.

Having touched the lives of so many, E.J. Panzram will be missed by all, but knowing that he has now rejoined his lifelong partner and wife, Lilly May, his family and friends rejoice. ...reunited We celebrate your new life, "Jay," and we thank you for being an instrumental part in all of our lives while here on Earth.
