Milford Milton Bemis, 82, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Floyd Hall of Kirkland, Washington after a nearly three-year hard fought battle with colon cancer. He was born to Julian LeRoy and Hattie Ethel (Cook) Bemis on January 14, 1921 in Palermo, North Dakota. The family moved to Seattle, Washington in 1924 where he lived until 1980 when he bought his home in Stanwood, Washington. Milford is survived by his sister, Vera Hall (Floyd) of Kirkland, two sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Merle, Albert, Verne and Russell. After graduating from West Seattle High School in 1940, Milford attended the University of Washington from which he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He retired as an Associate Engineer from Seattle City Light after 31 years of service. Our dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle was a constant source of loving care and support through the ups and downs of our close family life. He will be remembered by us all for his sense of humor, love of family get-togethers, fishing, camping, travel, bowling and singing. He was a dedicated U of W Husky fan. For the past 15 years Mil enjoyed his computer and working on research for his family tree.
