BYRD, CARL MAX; of Waterford; born in Blossom, Texas; passed away March 12, 2013; age 93. Loving husband of the late Tincy; dear father of Brenda (Gary) Shorland, Linda (Rev. George) Coon, Barry (Brenda) Byrd, Louanne (Scott) Joy, and Paula Byrd; beloved grandfather of Jenn (Shorland) Ryskamp, Tammy (Shorland) Giuliani, George M. Coon, Tina (Coon) Nichols, and Robin Byrd; great grandfather of 13. Preceded in death by his parents, Fillmore and Mabel Byrd. Carl was retired after 30 years as a cutter grinder at Pontiac Motor Division. He was a 1939 graduate of Pontiac High School and a W.W.II Veteran of the US Army PFC Communications. A Celebration of Carl's Life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, 11 a.m. with Rev. George Coon officiating, at the Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion followed by Burial at Crescent Hills Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
