Nora Springs - Funeral services for Frank Hoel, 78, were conducted Wednesday in the Methodist Church with the Pastor the Rev. J. Ellis Webb, in charge. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Rudd. The Sheckler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He died Monday at his home in Nora Springs. He had been in failing health for three years.
A son of Aaron and Emily Hoel, he was born at Rudd on Aug. 26, 1878. He was married to Lora Bilharz on Dec. 13, 1899. She died in 1920. He was married to Bonnie Tanner on Dec. 15, 1920, in Waterloo. He had lived in Nora Springs for the past 18 years.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Louis Hoel, Rockford; a step-daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Grace) Dodge, Mason City; a brother, David Hoel, Rockford, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. I. L. (Estella) Dow, Waterloo, and MIss Luraine MIller, who has made her home with the Hoels for the past 30 years. There are ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
