Joyce Hubbard
Mrs. Joyce Hubbard, age 86 of Hampton, Georgia passed away August 15, 2014.
She was born in Henderson, Kentucky to the late Chester Arthur and Mary Lilly Hatfield Riggs. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Hubbard Cheney and by siblings, Paul Riggs, Bertie Riggs Hobgood, Dorothy Riggs Ranes, Calvin Riggs and Opal Riggs Weikel.
Joyce was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church for 45 years where she served as the Program Coordinator for the Senior Adults Monthly Luncheon and the Social Chairwoman for the Homemakers Sunday School Class. She retired from J.C. Penney’s and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Doug) Johnson of Hampton, Pam (Mike) Ormseth of McDonough; son, Bryan E. Hubbard, Jr. of LaVergne, TN; grandchildren, Casey Houston of Grantville, Shelley (Tim) Holloway of Griffin, David (Kimberly) Floyd of Hampton, Travis Ormseth of Stockbridge, Ethan Ormseth of Stockbridge, Lana Ormseth of McDonough; great grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Ansley, Conner, Elaina, Kristie, Olivia and Tim; great great grandchildren, Timber, Kyndall, Annelyse and Zoe; brothers, James (Betty) Riggs of Owensboro, KY, Charles (Carrie) Riggs of Bowling Green, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Patterson, Rev. Mike Henderson and Ed Sisson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Contributions are asked to be made to the Gideon’s International in memory of Joyce.
