Mrs. Iva Lee Bates Wilson, age 88, of Fort Payne passed away on August 13, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Wilson was born in Jackson County, Alabama on April 2, 1926 to the late James Loveless and Mamie Alice Watkins Bates. She was a retired cosmetologist.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her son: Bobby Wilson, Sr. of Warner Robbins, GA; son and daughter-in-law: Brett Alan and Delia Robertson of Warner Robbins, GA; daughter and son-in-law: Betty Lee and Harold Roy Smith; 9-grandchildren; 14-great-grandchildren; and 8-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Forrest James Wilson; and sons: James Forrest Wilson, Byron Billy Wilson, and Freddie Wayne Wilson.
