Mrs. Jody Kay Miller, age 50, of 45000 Route 6, Wyalusing, Pa., passed away at her home in Browntown, Wyalusing Twp., Pa., on Saturday evening Sept. 10, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, after a long lingering illness. Jody was born in Towanda, Pa. on Aug. 16, 1961, a daughter of the late Edna Bailey Badger, who passed away in 1988. Most of her life was spent in the Wyalusing and New Albany area, where she was a member of the Wyalusing Valley High School, class of 1980. From 1979 until 1988, Jody was a seamstress at the Meshoppen Dress Factory. On June 14, 1986, Jody married Thomas Miller, to whom she has been married to for the last 25 years. From the time Jody was married, she has been a full time wife and mother for her family. Her entire life was dedicated to her family and home, taking great pride in making her home look its very best. In her spare time, before her ill health, Jody was a very active member of the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department, where she was awarded the 2007 WVVFD Celebration Helper of the Year. She was also active around the Wyalusing Community, also being awarded the 2008 Wyalusing Outstanding Citizen. Jody was also a member of the Wyalusing Rainbow Club. In her spare time she loved being surrounded by her very large family.

Surviving is her husband, Thomas Miller, of Wyalusing, Pa.; her daughter, Brandy Lee Carr of East Syracuse, N.Y.; and her son Andrew Thomas Miller, of Wyalusing, Pa., a student at Penn State Lehman. Jody also had three grandchildren, Samantha Carr, Holly Carr, and Maddux Jones, all of East Syracuse, N.Y. She was also survived by her many siblings, Richard and Lois Badger of Gillett, Pa., Art and Pam Badger of Dushore, Pa., Debbie Nogalo of Laceyville, Pa., Wendy and Bob Smith of Greenville, N.C., Terry and Beth Badger of Athens, Pa., Peg and Kevin Huyck of Laceyville, Pa., Mark Badger of Davenport, Fla., Tim and Patty Badger of LaPlata, Md. and Charlie Badger of Harrisburg, Pa. and many nieces and nephews. Jody also is survived by a special aunt, Ruth Herburt of Towanda, Pa.

Funeral services will be held on at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church with Rev. Barry Ballard of the church officiating. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, Pa. from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 or from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Mrs. Alice Matson, P.O. Box 86, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
