DEATH CLAIMS SPRINGVILLE NATIVE AT 91
SPRINGVILLE- Amanda Oakley, 91, one of Springville's oldest residents, died SUnday morning in a Provo hospital of causes incident to age.
She was born July 20, 1872 in Springville, a daughter of Dr. Joseph Smith and Sara Adelia Wright Wing. She was married to Ammi Oakley on April 16, 1889, in Provo, and he died Jan. 10, 1951.
Mrs. Oakley had lived in Springville all her life, and was educated in the Springville schools. She was a member of the LDS Church and had been affiliated with the MOthers Study Club and the DUP.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Corwin (Blanch) Graves of Salt Lake City and Mrs. H.L. (Sara) Nielsen of Springville; nine grandchildren, one of whom she reared, Mrs. Arch (Myrell) Oakley Banner of Springville; 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel, with Bishop W. Verl Whiting of the Springville Fourth LDS Ward officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
