U.S. Congressman. He attended Loyola University, the Real Estate School of Illinois, Midwest Institute and was a successful insurance and real estate broker. He was a member of Illinois General Assembly, (1955-75). In 1975, he was elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth Congress by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative John Kluczynski and reelected to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1983. An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he returned to former business interests until his death at age 73. He was named National Citizen of the year by a Polish newspaper in Buffalo, New York, in 1978 and the railway bridge on 67th and Cicero in the Southside of Chicago, is named in his honor.
