US Congressman. Born in Poland, he immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1889 and was raised in Chicago, Illinois. After attending business college, he graduated from the Chicago Law School in 1917 and became a practicing attorney in that city. He was assistant State's Attorney from 1918 to 1920, and from 1929 to 1942 he served as Master in Chancery of the Cook County Superior Court. A Democrat, Gorski was elected to the Seventy-eighth and three succeeding Congresses, serving from 1943 until his death. He represented Illinois' 4th District until 1949, when his constituency was redistricted into the 5th District. Later that year he died of a heart attack in Chicago. His seat in the US House was left vacant until 1951, when John C. Kluczynski succeeded him.
