Mrs. Blanche Smith, 69, died at 6 a.m. Saturday in Brokaw Hospital, Normal, (IL) where she had been a patient for one week. She had been ill for six months.
She was taken to Stensel's Funeral Home in Farmer City. Her services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Weedman Methodist Church. The Rev. Ben Anderson, pastor of the church will officiate with the Rev. Fred R. Harrold, pastor of the Farmer City Christian Church, assisting. Burial will be Mapel Grove Cemetery here. (Farmer City, IL)
She was born 12/19/1884 at Farmer City, the daughter of William (Wesley) R. & Mary (McClure) Calhoun. She was married to Alfred A. Smith 2/1/1907 at Farmer City. She lived NE of town all her life until about a year ago when she & her husband moved into town.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Mary L. Fethers of Downers Grove & Mrs. Doris Westmore of Ashtabula, Ohio; three sons, Lyle J. of West Point, Miss., Paul of San Francisco, Calif., & Donald of Farmer City; two brothers, Leslie & Glen Calhoun, both of Farmer City & six grandchildren.
She was a member of the Weedman Church & Louie Chapter No.155 of the Order of Eastern Star & the Woman's Relief Corps.
