The funeral services for Mrs. Julia A. Kearns will be held in Asheboro, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, at the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Kearns would have been 89 years old June 10, and has spent the greater part of her life in Asheboro. She owned a home here until a few years ago when she moved to Danville with her daughter, Mrs. Etta Kearns Douthat.

Mrs. Kearns became ill 24 hours before her death Thursday night.

The entire town expresses sorrow at the news of this good woman's death. She had many friends in the town and county as well as many relatives.

She was the wife of E. B. Kearns, who died about ten years ago. Only two children survive her, Mrs. Etta Douthat, with whom she was living at the time of her death, and Numa Kearns, of High Point.

The funeral will be in the charge of Rev. Mr. Plyler, of Greensboro, a former pastor of Mrs. Kearns. Rev. W. H. Willis, of the local M. E. Church, will assist in the service.

The burial will be in the family plot in the Asheboro City Cemetery.
