Fred W. McCullough came to Iowa when he was a young man. For many years he was employed by the Rock Island railroad and was serving as a conductor when he resigned from that work.

Following his railroad service, Mr. McCullough became foreman of a stone quarry at Iowa Falls, which work he followed until he moved to Estherville about 1927. During later years the condition of his health did not permit steady labor.

He was survived by his wife, a son, two step-daughters, a stepson, and two brothers, Hilbert and John McCullough.

Mr. McCullough was a member of the local Methodist Church. He was of a quiet disposition and yet jovial, kind and considerate to his fellow men and was held in high esteem by those who knew him best.

Funeral services were held at the Mahlum and Anderson funeral parlors.
