Mrs. Colleen Boyd Powell, 78, of Chatsworth and formerly of Dalton, passed away Monday August 11, 2014 at Murray Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late, Clyde and Pauline Bowman Boyd and was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Cate and a great-grandson, Jacobi Davis. Colleen was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Colleen is survived by her husband, James Powell of the residence; children and their spouses, Jan and Rick Gordon of Dalton, Kent and Kathy Powell of Ringgold and Clay and Angie Powell of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Judy Boyd of Dalton; loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Trammell Campbell officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
