CHARLES RONAL “RONNIE” RANKIN 68, Columbia Funeral services were held at 3 p.m.
on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 in the chapel of Forrest Funeral Home for Mr. Charles
Ronal “Ronnie” Rankin, 68, of Columbia, who died Thursday, Aug. 14 at his
residence. Interment was in the Enon Landmark Missionary Baptist Church
Cemetery. The Rev. Clyde Cooper, the Rev. Jerron Carney and the Rev. Bill
“Skeeter” Vasilion officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 1 p.m.
until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Forrest Funeral Home. A native of Columbia,
he was retired, a member of Enon Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and served
in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Ann Rankin;
parents, John D. Rankin and Mildred Thornhill and brother, Tommie Glenn
Thornhill. Survivors include two sons, Charles Mitcheal Rankin of Columbia and
James Eric Rankin of Columbia; two sisters, Catherine Benjamin of Foxworth and
Louise Elkins of Columbia and three brothers, Robert Milton Rankin of Columbia,
Howard Thornhill of Carriere and James Edward Rankin of Arab, Ala. Forrest
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. -
