"Christopher William Graves, 22, of Kent died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, after an auto accident. Born July 31, 1978, in Decatur, Ill., he was the son of John H. and Penelope M. (Manchee) Graves. He had lived on Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Kent in 1991. Mr. Graves was a student at Kent State University, where he was the founder of the Junglist Collective Music Club and was very active in the Late Night Christian Fellowship. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Kent and a composer of jazz music. Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Ralph and Twila Manchee of Ocala, Fla., and Margaret Graves of Decatur, Ill.; and brother, Benjamin Ross Graves of Kent. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home in Kent. Visitation also will be held one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Sunday at the Presbyterian Church of Kent, 1456 E. Summit St., with the Rev. Dale Chapin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kent Prez Campus Ministry and sent to the Presbyterian Church of Kent."
