During his life he worked at Cargill Inc., Hanson Construction, the Milwaukee Railroad, Formax Feed Co., Reschly Construction, maintenance departments of the United Presbyterian Home and Parkview Home and later provided lawn mowing services. He loved his John Deere lawn mower. His hobbies were coon hunting, fishing, and collecting toy tractors and horses.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Custer; grandson, Tyler Baker; brother, James Custer and sister, Betty Sarton.
