Ann Houlette Elliot, 95 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Ellis, pastor of United Pentecostal Church of Canyon, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

Ann was born on January 30, 1919 in Paducah TX to Gideon and Rosa (Fitzgerald) Terry. She grew up in the Friona area, graduating from Friona High School and later attending West Texas State University.

She was united in marriage on August 2, 1939 to Kenneth Houlette in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Earl Elliot in May of 1997, he also preceded her in death.

Ann moved to Dumas in 1960 and opened up the Spudnut Shop, which she and Kenneth operated for 19 years. She then went on to receive her real estate license and established Houlette Real Estate, which she operated until she retired in 2005, at the age of 85.

Ann was a lifetime member of the Dumas Noon Lions Club, a lifetime member of Dumas Board of Realtors, the Dumas Chamber of Commerce, and the United Pentecostal Church in Dumas. Ann was a fine lady and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters; son-in-law: Wilbur Moore.

Ann is survived by two daughters: Lawana Moore of Amarillo, Joyce Houlette of Houston; a son: Robert Houlette and wife Deana of Dumas; five grandchildren: Jeff Moore and wife Shona of Dumas, Jana Wall of Milledgeville, GA, Rex Houlette of Dumas, Deedra Lambert and husband Robby of Amarillo, Dalea Tatum and husband Chris of Amarillo; two brother in laws: Wayne Houlette and wife Maxine of Plainview and Dale and Jane Houlette of Friona; a sister in law Jean Terry of Friona and numerous other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd , Dumas, TX 79029, Dumas Noon Lions, PO Box 416, Dumas TX, 79029, or to a favorite charity.
