Bristol, TN - Rebecca Sue Mullins Payne, 56 of Payne Fork Road, Paynesville, WV died Monday August 11, 2014 in a Bristol hospital. Born March 8, 1958 in McDowell County WV. She was the daughter of the late David C. Mullins and Mae McGuire Mullins. Rebecca worked as L.P.N., R.N. and several other medical positions lastly worked at Southern Highlands in Welch, WV.
She enjoyed many hobbies: Crocheting, Scrapbooking, Four-Wheeling, Family Gatherings and her favorite Family Research and Genealogy. Family was her life, especially her husband, son and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Mildred Payne, Tilda Viars, Lottie Degner and Agnes Tilton and 3 brothers: Arnold, Harold and Tom Mullins.
Survivors include, her loving husband of 27 years Arvil Dean Payne of Jolo, WV, loving son Brad Knox and his wife Danielle, two granddaughters Taylor LeAnne and Alexis BreAnne Knox all of Mt. Jackson, VA, three step-children: Crystal Adair and her husband Dallas, Pam Vance and her husband Ben and Frances Ellen Adair and her husband Mark all of Paynesville, WV and 12 step grandchildren totaling 14 grandchildren. .
Four sisters: Melda Addair of Abingdon, VA , Patricia Wiley and her husband Tim of Williamson, WV, Jacqueline Wess and her husband Allen of Hurley, VA, Valorie Justice and her husband Eddie of Austinville, VA and four brothers: Mack Mullins of Paynesville, WV, Elza Mullins and his wife Jin of Slate Creek, VA, John Mullins and his wife Angie of Thomasville, NC and Jim Mullins and his wife Loretta of Lebanon, VA, Special niece Amber (Wess) Hurley and husband Austin of Wordell, VA and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A single night service was held August 12, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Crossview Church of Christ in Paynesville, WV with Preacher Hobert Kennedy officiating inurnment will be held at a later date in the John R. Stacy Family Cemetery in Paynesville, WV.
The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Mercer Funeral Home & Crematory for cremation.
