Ross died of complications of a weak heart. His final days were at home with caring family members.

Ross was born in Watertown, New York, the second in a family of 4 children of Ross Sr and Helen Stewart.

He graduated from Grossmont High School in San Diego in 1953. He was always one of the fastest guys in the school earning lots of ribbons and trophies in track. In 1954 he joined the USAF and retired in 1975. He served in Vietnam, England and other bases, retiring from Norton AFB. Upon retirement he went to work in RV sales with his brother at Holiday Trailer Sales in San Bernardino until it closed in 1999. Ross was a great listener with lots of compassion and reliable to a fault.

Ross is survived by his daughters Kathy Chavez, Sherry Stewart and Denise Stewart, his son Ross Stewart III, brother Bill Stewart, sisters Rae Branch and Bobbie Caswell, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Service will be held on August 22, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
