"Sentinel Butte Lady Called By Death Friday
Mrs. Gallus Zinsli Dies At Home Of Daughter South Of Beach; Funeral Tuesday
Death came to another pioneer resident of this vicinity last week when, on Friday morning, Mrs. Gallus Zinsli of Sentinel Butte, who came to this county in 1906, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Forrest Samuels, south of Beach.
Mrs. Zinsli's demise came after a lingering illness. She had been in ill health for several years, and for the past two months had been confined in bed. East Sunday she was taken from Sentinel Butte to her daughter's home where she remained until the end came. A special nurse was called last week Monday to care for her, and everything was done to relieve her suffering as much as possible before her death.
A host of grieving friends and relatives attended the last sad rites which were conducted from St. Michael's Catholic church at Sentinel Butte at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday. Interment was made in the Sentinel Butte cemetery. Pall bearers were Matt Decker, Math Tescher, Charles Nistler, Ray Zinsli, Peter Lardy and Tony Lardy.
Anna Mary Gass was born at La- Crosse, Wis., on March 2, 1873, and passed away on away 2, 1937, at the age of 65 years and one month. On April 6, 1891, she was married to Gallus Zinsli at Waumandee, Wis. Coming to North Dakota in 1906, Mr. and Mrs. Zinsli settled near Beach where they resided until a few years ago when they moved to Sentinel Butte to live.
Eleven children were born to the Zinsli union, two of them, Martin and William, having preceded Mrs. Zinsli in death. Surviving her are her husband and nine children, Joseph of Wibaux, Anton of Sentinel Butte, Egan of Beach, Mrs. Ingvoll Berg of Flint, Mich., Peter of McMinnville, Oregon, Edmund of Sentinel Butte, William of Beach, Mrs. Forrest Samuels of Beach, and Math of Sentinel Butte.
To the bereaved husband and children, the many friends of the family extend their sincerest sympathy in their loss."
