Mary Jane Jones was the great-granddaughter of Isaac Jones, proprietor of The Golden Ball Tavern. It was built in Weston 1768 and figured into the Revolutionary War activities in the area. Six generations of Isaac's descendants, including Mary Jane, were born and lived in the Golden Ball. The tavern is now a museum and on the National Register of Historic Places.
