MULLENS - Ray Caldwell, 69, of 1104 Davis St. Mullens, died Saturday, November 19, 1994, in a Charleston hospital. Born at Maben, he was a son of the late George Echols and Lola Boyd Caldwell. He was a 50-year resident of Mullens, a member of the Mullens United Methodist Church, a World War II, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge 151 AF & AM and a retired school teacher and coach from the Wyoming County Board of Education.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lula Mae McCoy, and four brothers, Alton, Creamer, Delmas and George Caldwell. Survivors include his wife, Betty Barnham Caldwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Pam Caldwell of Wheeling and Steven and Sonya Caldwell of Lexington, Ky.; three sisters, Leona Crawford and Helen Wiseman, both of Smithfield, Va. and Mrs. David (Velma) Hibbs of Warren, Ohio; two grandsons.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Mullens United Methodist Church with Dr. Donald L. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church, and one hour prior to services. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Mullens Masonic Lodge 151.
