Luther Elder Oldham, 59, of Arnoldsville, died Wednesday, February 12, 2003.
A native of Oconee County, Mr. Oldham was a son of the late Kingsley Allen Oldham and Nancy P. Bridges Oldham.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed with ABB. Mr. Oldham attended Grove Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin E. Oldham, Raymond Oldham and Floyd W. Oldham.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, with the Revs. Raymond Duncan, Nathan F. Meadows and Mark Palmer officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Ellis Crane, Dorsey Perry, Mike Ogle, David W. Seawright, Chris Oldham, Allen W. Hart, Phillip Dooley and Frankie Ogle served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were co-workers of ABB.
Mr. Oldham is survived by his wife, Linda Ogle Oldham; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia J. and Nathan F. Meadows, Arnoldsville; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel E. and Angela D. Oldham, Arnoldsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie and Bob Ballard, Conyers, Jo Ann Hein, Greenville, S.C., Evie Inez and Larry Hart, Hull, Frances Tyler, Greenwood, S.C., and Ruth and Henry Morgan, Georgetown, S.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester K. and Pat Oldham, Athens, Donald C. and Dot Oldham, Colbert, and Charles W. Oldham, Arnoldsville; grandchildren, Greg Oldham, Nicholas Meadows, Levi Oldham and Tyler Meadows; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, was in charge of arrangements.
