Bonnie was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on Nov. 14, 1946. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Ora Robinson; her father-in-law, Russell Thompson; a nephew, Jerry Robinson; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Edwards.
She finished her education at Highland High School and then married Don R. Thompson, the love of her life, on July 16, 1965, in Chubbuck, Idaho. She then followed her husband as a devoted wife as he served in the United States Navy for 20 years. During that time, they lived in many places in Virginia, California, and Idaho.
Don and Bonnie had three children whom she adored and is survived by today. She was a selfless mother as she raised her children, Todd, Becky, and John. She worked numerous odd jobs when needed to help the family. However, she loved being home with her husband, kids, and later, grandchildren.
She enjoyed serving in her church family doing lots of different crafts for people, sewing, crocheting, playing games with her family, and just being with us. She was a natural caretaker and servant. She loved working behind the scene to make everyone happy. The love in her heart for us overflowed and we knew she loved us by her actions and her words. It is rare to find a more devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and person like Bonnie in today's day and age.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Don; their children, Todd, Becky, and John; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry, Austin, and Clyde Robinson; and her sister, JoAnn Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, Bonnie's wish was to celebrate her homecoming to the glories of heaven with balloons and bright colors.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Officiating will be her Pastor Robert Humphries. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, followed by a reception at the Faith Baptist church, 335 West 13th St., behind the Burley library.
