Evelyn M. Bennett, 91, of Camp Point died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 3, 2006) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born Jan. 6, 1914, in Cameron, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of Ernest and Alfreda Earp Parrish. She married Frank W. Bennett on Sept. 14, 1946, in Monmouth. He died March 10, 1996.
Evelyn was employed by Adams Electrical Cooperative for 19 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Coatsburg, Camp Point American Legion Auxiliary and was an avid bingo player. She graduated from high school in Cameron.
Survivors include a son, Michael Bennett and his wife, Sandy, of Paloma; a daughter, Barbara Long and her husband, Larry, of Camp Point; seven grandchildren, Robert Bennett, Aaron Bennett and his wife, Tina, Shane Bennett and his wife, Tena, Jennifer Duvall, Jessica Fenton, Michelle Kasparie and her husband, Jeff, and Melissa Likes and her husband, Tony; and nine great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St Peter's Lutheran Church in Coatsburg by the Rev. Thomas Kamprath. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services Thursday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Elevator Fund or Timber Point Healthcare Center.
