Survived by his wife, Elaine; their daughter, Susan (Peter) Engsteron; sons, Richard (Diana) Newton;John (Audrey) Newton; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Harold Newton and Donald (Gwen) Newton; sisters, Wilma Burnett and Alice Dahir; many nieces and nephews.

Member of South Omaha Eagles FOE 154 and American Legion Post 373.

Visitation 9-11 am, Saturday, August 16, 2014, with funeral following at 11 am, both at Korisko Larkin Staskiewicz Funeral Home, 5108 F street, Omaha, NE Burial Hillcrest Cemetery,

LeRoy I Newton was born to Orval and Maude Newton. Orval was born in Kansas, but Maude, LeRoy and the rest of the family were all born in Nebraska.
In 1940, they were living in Homestead, Douglas County, Nebraska. The US Census lists:
Orval, 50, head, laborer, meat packing
Maude, 43, wife
Raymond, 17, son, new laborer
Harold, 12, son
LeRoy, 10, son
Wilma, 9, dau
Allen, 7, son
Alice, 7, dau
Donald, 5, son
