Obituary from The Appleton City Journal, Appleton City, St. Clair, MO, Thursday, June 1, 1922:

Death again claimed one of our oldest citizens, Edward Marion Foster, who passed away Monday morning. He was born in Harrison County, Indiana, June 10, 1833, being 89 years, 11 months and 12 days old. He was married to Elizabeth Hendrick in 1850. To this union nine children were born, seven still living. Two children, William and David live here. His wife died twenty-eight years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Funeral services conducted by Bro. William Sutton at the Baptist church, after which he was laid away in the cemetery.
