He was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Cleaton, Kentucky, a son of Johnny and Lillie Blaize Armour. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. He married Myrtle E. Shutt. He later married Darlene Park on Nov. 7, 1975 in Pontiac. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Thomas Wayne (Joyce) Armour, Tereasa (Ron) Likes, Richard L. (Verde) Armour, Frances (Butch) Sedoris, Lawrence Robert (Vicki) Wilfong, Patricia Ann (Mel) Shepherd, Linda K. (Clarence) Brown and Robert Lee Armour and John Thomas (Clara) Armour III; 33 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald L. Armour Sr. and one sister, Joandell Cox.
He trained horses in Skokie, Morton Grove and Half Day. He worked at Interlake Steel and later was a welder at Caterpillar Inc. in Joliet.
