James Victor Gulley, known to all as Vick or Hoochie, age 53 of Calhoun County, formerly of El Dorado died suddenly on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his home near Fordyce. James was born on October 8, 1960 in El Dorado to Bobbie J. (Ball) Gulley and the late Coleman D. Gulley. James worked on a drilling rig and in the oil fields for numerous companies throughout his life and was most proud of that line of work. In more recent years, he worked in various construction jobs and worked as a brick layer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and by his father, Coleman D. Gulley
Those left to cherish his memory include; his mother, Bobbie J. Gulley of El Dorado; two sons, Justin Gulley of Old Union and Tristin Gulley of McNeil, AR; one daughter, Billie Gulley of Old Union; his special friend and companion, Mildred Wooten of Fordyce; five grandchildren, Tristan Gulley, Jayden Gulley, Willow Gulley, Madison Miller and Georgia Gulley; two sisters, Donna Gulley of El Dorado and Jamie Kyle of El Dorado also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Lawson, with Bro. Mark Day officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado
