FERGUSON CORNERS — Hubert O. Hey, 93, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009.

Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 15 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial was in Shuman Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund, St. John’s Church, 514 East Swamp Road, Penn Yan, NY 14527; or to the Keuka Comfort Home, 35 Rte. 54, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Hubert was born in 1915 in Canandaigua, the son of the late Albert P. and Bessie E. Oswald Hey.

He worked as a carpenter with his father, and later was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he held many offices over the years. He married Doris Hey on June 29, 1938 at St. John’s. They celebrated their 70th anniversary last June.

Hubert is survived by his wife, Doris; four children, David (Judy) Hey of Penn Yan, Barbara (Dale) Pedersen of Hammondsport, Cathleen (Gilbert) Scott of Phelps, and Patricia (Randy) Eddinger of Hall; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lois Oswald, Etheleen Hey and Irma Jean Hey Rollins; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Hey; and sister, Mildred Adam.
