Of Bridgman Mi., passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am (Central Standard Time) Saturday at Kerley - Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Visitation will be 4-8pm (CST), Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Buchanan. On August 18, 1990, she married Art Hanson in Lansing, Illinois. Denise was a realtor with Keller - Williams Realty in St. Joseph, and a member of Southwest Michigan Realtors Association. She enjoyed flower gardening & landscaping, but her favorite pastime was watching her son Ryan play baseball on a warm summer day or playing with her daughter Alyssa in the yard. Denise is survived by her husband Art; two children, Ryan & Alyssa Hanson; her mother Sandy Grunst of Steger, IL; her sister Roxanne Urtz of Park Forest, IL; her brother Jeff Grunst of Tennessee; her mother-in-law & father-in-law, Theresa & Art Hanson, Sr. of Bridgman; sisters-in-law, Laura (Andy) Adkin of Baroda, Marilyn Wolstenholme of Steger, IL, Kathy (Chuck) Follstrom of Tennessee; brother-in-law, Cliff (Joann) Purnell of Lansing, IL; nieces & nephews, John, Jeri, Babette, Cliff Jr., Philip, Lindsay, Zachary, Lenny, Angela, special niece Amy; and many aunts, uncles, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Paul Grunst in 1990.
