Loyd was born March 27, 1921, at Dry Knob, Missouri, to John Riley Jones and Nellie Waymire Jones. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four children; two stepchildren and several grandchildren; also one sister, Peggy Hart, Tightwad, and a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; two brothers and six sisters. He moved to Oregon as a teenager and was a logger all his adult life. He loved the mountains, fishing and hunting.
