She graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1946. She worked at P.H. Glatfelter Company for several years, and also for her parents at Wise Taproom. She and her husband purchased the business from her parents and changed the name to Charlie's Bar and later the Papertown Inn. They worked together operating the business for many years, selling it in 1967. She then worked at Doubleday for over 18 years prior to her retirement. She loved her family, reading, ice cream, and her little dog, Chip, who was always by her side.
In addition to her husband, Charlie, she is survived by a daughter, Christine Mummert and her husband, Bill of Spring Grove; her grandchildren, Ty Mummert and wife, Sharon, and Sally Doron and husband, Bill; her great-grandchildren, Carrie, Jenna, Will, and Anna; her brother, Dave Wise and wife, Joyce; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in May by her sister, Barbara Kling. According to her wishes, services are being held privately by the family under the direction of Irwin-Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. of Spring Grove. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to GBC Church, 95 Fairview Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
