Celebrate Golden Anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac McClain celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage at their home in this city on Wednesday. They were married on September 14, 1854 in Clark township, and to them were born fourteen children of whom twelve are living and were present to help the aged father and mother celebrate.
The children present were: Nelson McClain, Elwood; Mrs. James Baldwin, Franklin; Conrad McClain, Kokomo; Mel McClain, Mrs. Millard Pool, James McClain, Asa McClain, Mrs. George Redmon, Bert McClain of Franklin; Mrs. Ezra Nay, Kokomo; Guy and Raymond McClain, Franklin.
The greater part of their married life was spent in this county but they were residents of Boone county for a number of years. A feature of the celebration was a big dinner served in the yard at the home on Yandes street in this city.

Bert McClain came down from Indianapolis, Tuesday evening to visit his father, Isaac McClain, who suffered a stroke of paralysis Tuesday morning, affecting his right side. Mr. McClain suffered a second stroke about 7:00 Tuesday night and his condition is critical. He is in his eightieth year.

Death of Octogenarian.
Isaac McClain died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Millard Poole on Young’s street at 8:20 Friday night following a stroke of paralysis that he suffered last Tuesday morning.
Mr. McClain had been totally blind for about ten years. He was born in Clark township, Johnson county, December 14, 1834, and had he lived until the coming month he would have been eighty years of age. He had spent his entire life in Johnson county and Franklin. Before coming to Franklin some thirty years ago he was engaged in farming.
Mr. McClain leaves a widow and twelve children, four generations of a family, which is a rare circumstance in these years. The sons are Nelson McClain of Elwood; Conrad of Kokomo; Albert and Guy of Indianapolis; Asa, Melvin, James and Raymond of this city. The daughters: Mrs. Anna Poole and Mrs. Martha Lash of this city, Mrs. Alice Baldwin of Columbus, and Mrs. Elizabeth Redmond of Indianapolis. He has one brother living, James A. McClain of Lebanon.
Mr. McClain’s death is the first in the family in forty years. He was a man that made friends with every one he met and was respected by a large number of acquaintances. The funeral will be private and will be held from the home of Mrs. Poole, Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery; Dr. H. P. Klyver will conduct the services.
