His television career began in the mid-1950s when he appeared in scores of popular shows, many of them westerns, such as 'Bat Masterson', 'Have Gun - Will Travel', 'Gunsmoke', 'Rawhide' and 'The Rifleman'. His other credits included 'The Detectives', 'The Untouchables', 'The Twilight Zone', 'The Fugitive', 'The F.B.I.', 'Rockford Files' and Quincy, M.E.', however his most prominent role came as Michael Rossi, a New York doctor who sets up practice in the fictional town of 'Peyton Place' which ran from 1964 to 1969 on ABC, where he appeared in 436 episodes of the popular soap opera.
