Sr. Chief Petty Officer James Ansley, age 80 of Conyers, died Monday, August 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Edna Ansley, Sr., step-mother, Elizabeth Burch Ansley and sister, Elizabeth Smith. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Ansley, Conyers; daughters Victoria and Elizabeth of Conyers; grandchildren, Kane and Lanette Ledbetter, Corey and Vanessa Ledbetter, LeAnn Ledbetter; 7 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas David and Debbie Ansley; sister's children, Mellie Smith, Dewitt Smith; and 7 nieces and nephews. Mr. Ansley's mother died when he was young and he was raised by his step-mother, Elizabeth Burch Ansley. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he proudly served for 21 years. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel; interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
