Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Crossville Memorial Chapel for Wesley Hoyt Williamson, 76, Crossville, who died Friday, June 20, 2008. The Revs. Terry Hill and Bobby Bentley will officiate. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Dawson. Crossville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Williamson was a longtime resident of Crossville and had resided in Collinsville the past 14 years. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hollister 788 during the Korean Conflict. He recently retired as dispatcher with the Collinsville Police Department. He was a great friend and well loved by many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Williamson; Roy Leo Williamson and Mary Ethel Williamson Aders, Carl "Skeeter" Williamson, Doris Ann (Hershel) Catlin, Mary "Chick" (R.T.) Hill, Alene (Jack) Ryan.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Kay (Johnston) Williamson; children, Wesley Hoyt (Lynn) Williamson Jr., Crossville, Carolyn (Terry) Williamson Hill, Birmingham, Mike (Lisa) Williamson, Albertville, Jimmy (Myrna) Williamson, Crossville; stepdaughter, Rhonda Hancock; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sisters, Martha (Clyde) Duncan, Indiana and Margarette Neilsen, Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Junior Williamson, Mike Williamson, Jimmy Williamson, Chuck Williamson, Jarret Williamson and John Williamson.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Rose Manor of Geraldine and Marshall County Hospice.
Visitation will begin today at 11:30 a.m. for family and from noon until the time of service for friends.
