Clifford Eugene Elliott Sr., 77, of Danville died at 1:31 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 16, 2006) at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.
Mr. Elliott was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Fithian, a son of Charles Louis and Ethel Maude Woodard Elliott. He married Lois Blurton on June 13, 1954, in St. Elmo. She survives.
Survivors also include a son, Cliff Elliott Jr. of Paxton; two daughters, Jan Snider of Danville and Sue Abney of Valrico, Fla.; a brother, Donald Elliott of Salesville, Ark.; a half brother, Russell Elliott of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, a half brother and a half sister.
Mr. Elliott graduated from Danville High School in 1946 and Utterback and Brown Business College in 1948. He worked at Woodbury's and Sherwin-Williams paint stores and served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked at Sherwin-Williams for 40 years and retired in 1992. Mr. Elliott was a member of First United Methodist Church and the church men's club. He enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, the Illini, refinishing old furniture and going to auctions.
