Robert Daily, 72, of Bridgeport, died August 11, 2014 at the Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. His graveside memorial service will be held August 16, 2014 at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport.Robert was born Feb 23, 1942 in Sterling, CO to Vernon and Norma (Olmstead) Daily. He received his education and graduated from Hillrose High School in Hillrose, CO in 1960. He married Sherry Herron on Nov 6, 1961 in Westminster, CO. He then graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley in 1965 with his teaching degree. They moved to Bridgeport where he started his teaching career in 1965 where he taught History and Social Studies, and retired from teaching in 2001. He also drove the school bus during his school years and for many years after. Everyone remembers his Notebooks!Robert enjoyed artifact hunting, flying, and collecting many different things. He was an avid automobile enthusiast (especially corvettes), loved playing cards and pinochle, watching the Huskers and the Broncos and NASCAR. He enjoyed computers and the history of Colorado and Western Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife Sherry; children Annette Beattie (Zane Cranmore), Kevin Daily, and Michelle Daily (Andrew Blake); grandchildren Heather Dixon, Hailey Beattie, Morgan Stott, Micheal Berry, Stephanie Berry, Darean McDaniel and Zeth Douglas; great grandchildren Elijah Dixon and Landen Harmon; brothers Richard (Barsha) Daily, William Daily; sister Lynell Guymon; sister in law Velma Herron; and numerous nieces and nephews.His parents, brother Steven Daily, brother in law Terry Herron and nephew Jonathan Daily preceded him in death.
