Horace B. Wright, Sr.
Horace B. Wright, Sr., of 1 E. 19th St., husband of Mrs. Esther C. Moore Wright, died yesterday at his home after an illness of many years.
He was an Army veteran of World War I.
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Wright was a musician and grew up in the same neighborhood with Eddie Cantor and Jimmy Durante and sold newspapers with them as a boy. He had lived in Wilmington 31 years.
Mr. Wright was a pianist. For many years he had his own dance band and was a member of the Musicians’ Union.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dolores F. Reinhart, Philadelphia; Mrs. Jean Thompson, Chicago, and Mrs. Mildred C. Hilger, Newark; three sons, Jere of Lancaster, Pa., William S., Lexington Park, Md., and Horace B. Jr., Wilmington, and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 24th and Market Streets, this afternoon at 2, with interment in Riverview Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
