Marshall was born on November 19, 1915, in Laredo, Texas to Marcus Pinkney and Marguerite Mae (Overstreet) Scott. Marshall was 98 years old and was a resident of the Palisade and Grand Junction area for over 65 years.

He spent his childhood in Laredo, Texas, and graduated from high school in Mirando City, Texas. Marshall enjoyed amateur radio (KØRES), astronomy, photography, geology, reading and music. Marshall's profession was a land surveyor and a map draftsman for the U.S. Government.

Marshall is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertie Belle (Pullin) Scott; and daughter, Laura Bracken.

He is survived by two children: a son, Marshall Morris Scott, Jr. of Parker, CO, and a daughter, Lorraine Gilas, of Thornton, CO. Mr. Scott also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren to cherish his memories.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
