He retired as a finish carpenter from Mahanoy Construction, Herndon; was an Army veteran of the Korean War; and a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Herndon RD.
Surviving are his wife, Iva Straub Hoffman; a son, Randy of Halifax; two daughters, Sharon Stotelmyer of Berrysburg and Diane Tobias of Millersburg; a sister, Anna Klock of Herndon; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
