Born February 18, 1918 in Sharpsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Wilbur Earl Barkdoll, Sr. and Daisy Irene Hartle Barkdoll.
Charles had work at Western Maryland Railroad, Downey Brothers Farm Machinery, and retired from Arnett's Lawn and Garden Center. He was a member of Christ Reformed Church, and a 60 year member of District 12 Ruritan Club. Charles enjoyed bowling and loved to go camping.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Hazel Mose Barkdoll who passed away April 1, 2004.
Charles is survived by two daughters; two sons; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Howard Barkdoll and Wilbur E. Barkdoll, Jr.; and one grandson.
Services will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
